«Path to Employment» Individualized Employment Assistance Service

for Unilingual Anglophone Participants

The program includes the following:

  • Updating of the employability profile;
  • Labour market workshops;
  • Periods dedicated to the exploration of trades and occupations;
  • Learning and practice of job search strategies (calls to employers and job interviews);
  • Basic computer skills;
  • Customized résumé and cover letters;
  • Action plan to help achieve vocational project;
  • Internship;
  • Individual psychosocial counseling if needed;
  • 3-month follow-up period after completion of the program.

You are eligible for the program – aimed at both men and women

if you meet the following criteria:

  • You are at least 18 years old;
  • You are unemployed and able to work;
  • You are available Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM;
  • You want to enter or re-enter the work force;
  • You need help to confirm or make a vocational choice;
  • You are willing to participate in activities organized during weekly sessions as part of the employment assistance program;
  • You receive employment insurance benefits or income security benefits or you are without income;
  • You are fluent in English (spoken and written);
  • You live within the territories served by the Châteauguay or St-Constant local employment centers.

Duration: 10 to 12 hours a week for a 12-week period.

Income security recipients and people “without any public income support” who live below the low-income cutoff are eligible to receive financial aid as well as an additional allowance if needed for each day they participate in the program.
